A nonprofit education system in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to work at one of their preschools in Jamaica. Working alongside other Therapists, the Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for treating children with developmental disabilities and helping them to access the academic environment and participate to the maximum extent possible in educationally related activities. This has the potential to continue into the Summer Program as well as an opportunity to return for following school year for the right candidate. New graduates are encouraged to apply!Orientation to the note taking system prior to starting will be provided. Clinical mentorship and guidance is also offered, as needed.Responsibilities:The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will be responsible for:Evaluating and treating students with disabilitiesMaintaining daily progress and attendance recordsWriting progress reportsAttending IEP meetingsRecommending adaptive equipment, environmental accommodations or assistive technologyPerforming other duties, as neededQualifications:Bachelor's Degree (New graduates are encouraged to apply!)NYS Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licenseNYS issued TSSLDSolid assessment, clinical, and documentation skillsPatient orientedGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:6+ months of experience working with the Pediatric populationPrevious experience in a School setting
