MarketSource is headquartered in Alpharetta, GA.SummaryThe GIS Analyst performs a specialized role that engages in mapping, sales territory creation, and analysis to optimize resource coverage solutions and demonstrate MarketSource value and results for retail and commercial clients.The GIS Analyst supports projects ranging from location data preparation to data analysis to sales territory design. Essential Job Functions: Acquire, clean, and geocode location data; help maintain MarketSource's location database.Frequent use of MS Excel, including sorting, filtering, pivots, charting, vlookup, and other analytics functionsAnalyze demographic data (e.g., census data, Simmons and Media Mark variables, neighborhood tapestries, etc.) Analyze spatial data to create efficient clusters of locations (sales territories) balanced by specific data variablesCreate maps for use by our Management and field teamsAnalyze sales data to interpret the impact of our programsAbility to present data aesthetically and logically with maps, data tables, and written communication Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Desire to learn, knack for learning quicklyStrong grasp of "team" backing and building each other up, voluntarily sharing knowledge and new things learned, and pitching in to help teammates who have spiking workloads.Communicating and receiving feedback openly and respectfully, contributing to a collective positive attitude.Solid interpersonal skills and drive to understand clients and their needsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh degree of self-motivation and tenacity with attention to detail while still completing work in time for firm and/or tight deadlines and the ability to multitask.
