Automation TechnicianPosition Type: Direct HirePosition Salary: 28/HR - 35/HR (Depending on level of Experience)Position Location: Columbia, SCShifts- Mon - Friday (Saturdays are OT)1st Shift 7am-3pm2nd Shift 3pm-11pm $1.25 differential3rd Shift 11pm-7am $1.75 differentialGeneral Purpose: AutomationSupports automation engineering services, production automation, and activitiesMechanical: Repairs and maintains process machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems and production machines and equipmentElectrical: Maintains and troubleshoots in-circuit and functional testers, associated test fixtures, stress chambers and chamber racks to ensure manufacturing test equipment is on-linePrinciple Accountabilities:Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system componentsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceabilityPerform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related componentsEnsure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment are completed on a regularly scheduled basisUnderstanding of PLCsRead and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawingsMaintains software, documentation, and equipment to the latest revision or operational specificationsThrough troubleshooting, identifies machine malfunctions and isolates the failure mechanismRepairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective mannerPerforms calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedulesAssists process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipmentAnalyzes and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanismsDisassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defectsAligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitryMay require travel to other sites or equipment vendors' locationsExperience working in a Manufacturing environment
