ResponsibilitiesIntegrate with field activities and ensure alignment with drawings, specifications, and construction quality; including collecting field measurements, writing requests for information (RFIs), and providing as-built redlines or other documentation or construction administration activities.Coordinate structural design on multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing (MEP) professionals.Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement.Communicate key activities, critical submittals to stakeholders, engineering, vendorsSupport construction with change management, takeoffs, and progress reportingProviding construction with engineering/architectural design input/interpretationIdentify opportunities for detail/design/constructability improvements and report back to the engineering teamsMake daily site walks to check progress of the construction projects containing structural scope, identify deficiencies or non-compliance with the construction documents, and communicate these issues to the design engineer and the construction manager responsible for the project.Speak directly with the construction superintendent & foremenMinimum Requirements10+ years of experience in the construction industry focused on structural systemsExperience in structural design of buildings for commercial, industrial, oil and gas, high tech industriesHospitals, multifamily, office buildings, etc.Familiarity with US building codes and structural design standards.100% out in the field - field observations, checking in on construction progressProgress reporting to engineers, designersWorking heavily with contractorsNavigating drawings and construction safetyProject focused on Steel construction - concrete and steel Reinforced concrete and structural steel Water stops, post installed anchors, steel boltingBolt tightness Familiarity and experience with Navisworks, Bluebeam, Revit and the Microsoft Office SuiteStructural software proficiency: RISA, RAM, eTABS, revit, SAP2000 (doesn't need to have all)Come from a structural engineering backgroundDetail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big pictureAble to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and timelinesAbility to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashionSelf-directed, highly motivated self-starter with solid writing and verbal communication skillsWillingness to work overtime to meet deadlines.Ability to work independently with minimal oversightMust be onsite full-time in Austin, TX
