URL: Power Validation EngineerLocation: Sunnyvale, CA (100% Onsite)Employment Type: Fulltime Permanent with AXISCADES.We are looking for HW Power engineers who can perform power validation and debugging on our customer products.Qualifications:The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of Systems Engineering, power electronics, and microprocessor architecture.Understanding of modern consumer SoC microprocessors, DSP, neural and image processors.Expertise in LDOs, SMPS and power distribution in embedded systemsExpertise in Power Supply Architecture, Power Estimation, Power Supply Design, Validation and power measurementsExperience with schematic and layout tools similar to OrCAD and AllegroExpertise in power consumption modeling power trees and optimization on SoC microprocessorsExperience with Lab Equipment such as Oscilloscopes, DC Analyzers, Current Meters and DAQ systemExperience debugging power issues on embedded electronics devicesBasic Experience with Linux or Android based consumer devicesFamiliarity with MATLAB and PythonKey Job Responsibilities:Conduct Power consumption characterization on complex embedded systems/ devices (Echo devices, eReaders, Tablets, Fire TV sticks) for different use cases.Works independently to take power consumption data based on test planDive deep into power related issues and work with Power engineer to solve themSummarize and publish power consumption test reportShould have the ability to perform System Power Architecture, Power Analysis, Estimation of Loss and consumption analysis.Experience in Designing products with Power Efficient battery-operated designs based on Li-Ion, Li-Poly as well as AC-DC Wall AdaptersExpertise in Power Supply Designs using LDO and Switching Regulators such as Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost Regulators.Experience in Designing Power Supply Solutions based on PMIC and Integrated Multi-Regulator IC Packages.Involve Actively in Power supply Characterization in measuring Voltage, Current, Ripple Noise, Efficiency, Line regulation, Load regulation, In-rush Current, Step response and Startup & Shutdown sequence behaviour.Expertise in Power Optimization for various embedded designs. Work with Firmware team in optimizing the Power consumption by implementing DVFS, Idle - Sleep - deep sleep - wake up -Low Power Modes.Should have Worked on Power consumption analysis with Use-case based & Sub System level Power Measurements for various supply Rails, Validation and Debugging any issues around Power Supply Sections.Experience with lab equipment's such as Multimeter, Precision DMMs, Digital Oscilloscope, Programmable DC Power supplies, Function Generator, Electronic load, Thermocouple, Spectrum Analyzer...etc."We're an equal opportunity employer.
