Job Description: Title: Data Center TechLocation: New Carlisle, INContract: 6 months with possibility of extension/conversionPay: $21-$22/hr.ShiftM-F 8am-5pm or 7am-3:30pm. Potential to go four 10's schedule with Front half (Sun-Wed) Back half (Wed-Sat) shiftsYou will work in a team environment and collaborate with other teams, which requires strong communication skills. Our client's Data Centers takes customer data with the utmost importance, and selected candidates must be able to perform repetitive tasks without variance and adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) that ensures customer data is protected and properly handled.Role Responsibilities:Communicate with local lead to ensure daily expectations are clear and achievedPull cable inventory from stockApply location labels to cablesCarry labels to position and install into 12ft high cable traysReading and understanding labelsUpdating completed work in tracking documentsAbility to lift up to 40 lbs and work in cramped and/or elevated locations.Experience of working In a data center is rare and a niche environmentWorking with multiple teams and vendors, fast paced, great exposureBasic Qualifications:0-1 years of structured cabling experienceComplete understanding of industry cable test procedures and equipment for a variety of different cabling systems (Copper/Fiber test equipment, OTDR, Network analyzer, vfl etc.)Thorough understanding of Cat 5e, Cat 6 and OM3/4 - OS2 fiber optic cabling systemsAbility to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds and move up to 50 poundsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects and prioritiesKnowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and OutlookAbility to work under pressure and deadlinesPreferred Qualifications: Strong networking understanding/basic IT hardware familiarity.Hands-on/technical experience (e.g. mechanic, automotive mechanic, electronics technician, people who have to troubleshoot small mechanics). Geek Squad or Microcenter experience.CompTIA A+ certified
