Production Manager

The Production Manager will ensure daily production targets are met, coordinating closely with other departments to keep materials and resources flowing smoothly, and making real-time adjustments to align with our needs. Your role is crucial to keeping production on track, solving challenges as they arise, and maintaining safety, efficiency, and quality standards.Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate all activities within the shop floor to execute production plans aligned with organizational goals for production, quality, cost, delivery and safetyProvide leadership and support to staff, fostering skills development and building a team-based organization focused on achieving objectivesManage the financial aspects of production operations, ensuring budgets are maintained Provide strategic leadership and technical expertise, including recommending new equipment as neededBalance production needs by coordinating with production and cross-functional teams to align resourcesDevelop and implement both short-term and long-term strategies for plant operations, including researching and recommending new processes, systems and policiesDrive continuous improvement efforts by eliminating waste, reducing operational costs, and introducing more efficient production methodsResponsible for maintaining process quality in accordance with Operations process and quality standardsLead safety, quality, and productivity programs, conducting regular workplace inspections and addressing non-compliance issues as necessaryPerform project work and distribute necessary communication to support business objectives.Supports development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.Initiates, reviews, masters, and follows all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for area of responsibility.Establish and maintain effective work relationships within the department and cross-functionally Maintain an awareness and comply with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements; Communicate with EHS or Plant Manager regarding environmental management activitiesUnderstand, complete, and maintain environmental documentation as directed by EHS or Plant ManagerRecognize waste streams and minimize waste generation; Comply with environmental regulations when using, storing, dispensing, or handling hazardous and non-hazardous materials and wastes.Other duties as assignedRequirements:Minimum of 5 years' proven experience in a production leadership role, with a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, operations, and quality systemsStrong leadership style with a demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members; Ability to foster a cohesive team and maintain positive employee relationsAbility to effectively communicate ensuring clarity of actions and expectationsStrong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principlesAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain quality, control costs, and meet deadlinesExcellent analytical skills with the ability to apply statistical techniques as necessaryKnowledge of safety regulations and experience enforcing safety standards Working Conditions:This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, chemicals; high noise levels; physical obstacles; high, narrow and confined areas.
