Associate Attorney for the ADR GroupReports toPartnerFLSA StatusExemptLabaton Keller Sucharow LLP seeks to hire a mid-level associate (class of 2019 - 2021) for a role with the firm's alternative dispute resolution group. This group represents large numbers of individual consumers in arbitration claims against corporate wrongdoers. Candidates must have a broad interest in consumer protection law, including data privacy and cybersecurity, consumer finance and banking, defective products, and predatory lending.The successful candidate will have excellent legal analysis, research and writing skills. They should have an interest in practicing across multiple practice areas in a growing, technology-focused area of law. Candidate should also be entrepreneurial, with an interest in assessing potential new matters to be brought on behalf of the firm's clients. A significant portion of this group's work is with cases that are faster moving than traditional class action matters, so an ability to juggle assignments on multiple matters at once is required.Judicial clerkship experience or pre-law school professional experience is preferred.Job Duties: Primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following:Interpreting statutes and application of the set of facts involved in the matters;Negotiating with adversaries around application of the law and obtaining discovery;Attending and running meet and confers with adversaries regarding the scope and method of discovery;Review of documents obtained in discovery;Drafting document requests, interrogatories, requests to admit, deposition notices;Preparing documents for use at depositions;Taking offensive and defensive depositions;Legal research;Drafting briefs and legal memoranda;Mediation/Arbitration preparation;Participating in settlement conferences;Presentations at team meetings;Scheduling of hearings, meet and confers and conferences;Other Tasks as assigned by the Managing Attorney.QualificationsA U.S. law degree;Must have at least 3 years of experience in related substantive matters (class of 2019-2021);Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;Must be able to work independently and confidently able to collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization;Excellent organizational and project management skills;Good attention to detail;Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Salary Range$160-170,000 US / Annually
