Locations: Holbrook Sugar Hill, GATransPerfect Health Corp. is a division of TransPerfect focused on outcome based rehabilitation solutions: Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy.The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is responsible for providing quality direct patient treatment in all levels of care. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant implements treatment plans developed by a registered Occupational Therapist. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is clinically supervised by a registered Occupation Therapist according to the compliance of all professional standards. The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant will report to Director of Rehabilitation for all aspects of corporate operations.DESCRIPTIONPerform services as stated within the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant scopeResponsible for the treatment of residents with noted disorders or deficits within Occupational Therapy Assistance scope of practice upon receiving Physician order and completion of evaluationOptimize the functionality and skills of patientsResponsible for the objective screening of residentsComplete all necessary medical documentationCollaborate with Occupational Therapy(OT) to develop programs appropriate to the needs of facility residents while fulfilling Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) / OT co-signature and supervision requirementsAttend all required meetings including care planning, staff meetings and family meetingsAssist the facility in meeting the standards necessary to obtain state and federal certification while following the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) Resident Right GuidelinesFollow facility infection control policies and proceduresRequired to perform a variety of duties relative to the job, some of which require a moderate to heavy category of physical demandPush/Pull up to 300lbs, stand, sit, sustained squatting, repetitive stooping, trunk twisting, sustained kneeling, sustained & repetitive forward reaching, stair climbing, walking, grasping, fine motor, liftingComplete all other tasks that are deemed appropriate for the role and assigned by the manager/supervisorREQUIRED SKILLSEffective written and verbal communication skills in EnglishAbility to maintain professionalism in all situationsAbility to clinically collaborate and be receptive to feedback & direction from OTRKnowledge of Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM)Knowledge of Medicaid case-mixREQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Associate degree or its equivalentCertified in Occupational Therapy Assistant ProgramState LicensureDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEPrior Senior Living Community and/or geriatric experience
