Our client is an established top-tier alternatives fund in NYC. The firm is well-known and invest in assets across multiple strategies. Working directly under the General Counsel, the Sr. Legal counsel - attorney would contribute to and/or be responsible for the following areas:Exec Compensation and Related Contracts: Provide legal counsel on all aspects of executive compensation, including structuring and drafting of executive employment agreements, incentive plans, bonus structures, and severance agreements.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to draft and implement competitive and compliant compensation plans.Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and market trends impacting compensation plans.Negotiate the terms of compensation agreements with opposing counsel, including employment contracts and severance arrangements, ensuring favorable outcomes while mitigating risk.Advise on executive compensation and related employment matters across multiple jurisdictions (including internationally), ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, tax regulations, and local standards.Employment Matters: Provide legal support on a range of employment matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, discrimination and harassment issues, and compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.Assist with employment law disputes, including settlements and internal investigations.Participate in or lead ad hoc projects and strategic plans.Requirements:4+ years of experience (JD 2020 +) in the Executive Compensation and Benefits Group of a AM Law 100 or a firm specialized in such practice. A mix of in-house experience at a peer asset management firms would be ideal. Substantive experience drafting and negotiating sophisticated and complex compensation arrangements.Deep knowledge of executive compensation laws, regulations, and best practices, including tax regulations.Admitted to Practice in the State of New York or eligible to waive inIf this sounds like you, please apply.
