The Alfred & Adele Davis Academy (Davis Academy) educates generations of confident and compassionate leaders, who embrace Jewish values, are empowered by academic excellence and are engaged with the world around them. As a highly academic independent school and the largest Reform Jewish Day School in the country, The Davis Academy serves over 500 students, Kindergarten Prep through eighth grade, across its two state-of-the-art campuses in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area of Atlanta, GA. Davis Academy is hiring a new Director of Institutional Advancement who will lead the creation and implementation of an overarching fundraising strategy. Key focus areas include major donor cultivation and stewardship, fostering meaningful relationships with the Board of Trustees, and integrating them into the school's development efforts. The Director will also lead the schools' efforts with the Georgia State Education Tax Credit Program (GOAL), grant writing, endowment and legacy giving and support an upcoming capital campaign. Successful candidates will be goal-oriented and proactive, with strong organizational and people management skills, demonstrated success in donor relations and solicitation, and can manage multiple deadlines. Ideally, candidates will be familiar with the independent school environment and have a passion for both Jewish communal fundraising and Davis Academy's mission. Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a member of the school's leadership teamDevelop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to include $1.9M annual fundraising objectives Drive priority setting, time management, and orchestration of all development activitiesSupervise, guide and mentor the Annual Giving Manager and Database ManagerServe as the main point of contact for existing foundation and corporate relationships; proactively research and pursue new grant opportunitiesCreate and implement alumni engagement, donor recognition, and community cultivation programs and eventsOversee all fundraising operations including reconciliations, reporting, gift processing, and donor acknowledgementsWork closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to write compelling messagesPartner with Board and lay leaders on fundraising planning and solicitationBuild ongoing relationships with key stakeholders in the communityQualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree with 7+ years' experience in non-profit fundraisingDemonstrated success closing gifts of five and six-figures; experience with legacy giving and endowments preferredHigh-level strategic thinking and planning; ability to meet goals and objectives Strong presence with the ability to inspire, influence and build credibility with families, donors, leadership and staffFamiliarity with independent school/Jewish day school and/or Jewish communal fundraising highly preferredExcellent donor relations and customer service skills Highly effective verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and donor management software; Raiser's Edge experience a plus
