MadaLuxe also invests in disruptive technologies in the retail fashion space and beyond.Role Summary:As the Director of Merchandise Planning for our core business and Marketplace areas, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, providing strategic insights, and supporting key business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategy, preferably within the retail industry. This individual will be responsible for corporate finance functions such as managing sales, gross margin and inventory projections, strategic reporting, and working cross-departmentally with sales, buying, and finance teams to support the strategic growth and development of MadaLuxe Group.Essential Job Functions:Create financial models to forecast and track financial performance and identify areas for improvement.Oversee division's monthly sales, gross margin, and inventory projectionsWork cross-functionally and coordinate with various departments, including Operations and Finance, to ensure projections are being achieved.Receive and populate monthly purchases into financial projections for sales and inventory.Oversee division P&L management including the annual plan, quarterly reforecasts, and monthly projections, inclusive of sales, gross margin, expenses, and inventory. Review actualized performance monthly to ensure overall accuracy of the P&L and GL coding.Provide analytical, accounting and reporting support to the accounting group, including monthly fluctuation explanations of actuals vs. plan/forecastCoordinate with Sales and Buying teams to implement business guardrails on inventory purchases.Review open to buys with buying team to meet budgeting strategy.Develop models based on potential sales/buys to manage forecasts and divisional planning in support of strategic initiatives, potential financial transactions, due diligence and strategic decision-making. - can we be more specific here.Maintain a keen awareness of current business dynamics and overall performance of the division.Drive the implementation and optimization of FP&A tools and systems to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy for the division.Support ad-hoc projects and analyses as needed.Education and Professional Requirements:Bachelor's degree in business, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial planning, analysis and strategy. Retail industry coupled with finance and accounting experience preferred.Financial statement (income statement, balance sheet & cash flow statement) modeling and analysis experience.Ability to translate complex business/financial situations and questions into simple and clear conclusions and communication tools.Strong analytical skills with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly.Expertise in business process optimization, with a history of achieving significant operational improvements.Highly proficient in Excel with ability to maintain and update complex financial modeling/build detailed models from scratch.Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Business acumen: comprehension of the fashion industry, incorporating market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics.Enthusiasm for the industry and a strong commitment to professional growth.Results-driven and entrepreneurial, with a positive attitude and the capability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
