The role involves seeing 250+ patients per shift.Job SummaryPerform initial-response screening following protocols approved by supervising provider.Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for examination, procedures, and treatment.Obtain and document vital signs, patient history, and other information in the electronic health record (EHR).Assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments, ensuring adherence to protocols.Administer and document oral, parenteral medications, and immunizations as directed by the provider.Recognize and respond to emergencies appropriately.Respond to patient requests via telephone, in-basket messages, or other channels in a timely manner.Enter medication, radiology, and lab orders in the EHR for provider sign-off.Provide discharge instructions and enter medication refill orders as needed.Perform phlebotomy, CLIA-waived tests, and other diagnostic tasks.Serve as a liaison between patients and medical staff for concerns or complaints.Schedule, coordinate, and monitor appointments and outpatient procedures.Ensure compliance with third-party and managed care policies.Participate in Quality Assessment and Improvement Programs.Maintain examination rooms and medical supplies.Support organizational goals, policies, and safety standards.Preferred SkillsBasic computer and keyboarding skills.Clinical skills related to ambulatory patient care.Problem-solving abilities.Effective interpersonal and communication skills.Experience with EPIC (Electronic Medical Record).EducationGraduate of a Medical Assistant program with a completed clinical externship (minimum 160 hours).ORGraduate of a Medical Assistant program without an externship but with at least one year of clinical experience in the past five years.ORCurrent Medical Assistant certification with five years of clinical experience.ORLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN).ORLicensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with one year of clinical experience in a medical setting.ORMilitary-trained medical personnel with one year of clinical experience.Certifications & LicensureRequiredCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.PreferredCertification from one of the following:American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA/CMA).American Medical Technologists (RMA).National Healthcare Association (CCMA).National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA).Benefits - Pride Global offers eligible employee's comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.Equal Opportunity EmployerAs a certified minority-owned business, Pride Global and its affiliates - including Russell Tobin, Pride Health, and Pride Now - are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
