SWIFT Messaging Consultant

Our Client, a Global Investment Bank, is seeking a SWIFT Messaging Consultant in New York, NY. Responsibilities:Gain a detailed understanding and knowledge of ISO 20022 message standards to support process updates.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test new SWIFT messages and identify potential issues.Analyze existing SWIFT messages and compare them with new SWIFT messages to ensure accuracy and identify gaps.Partner with Custodian Banks to test new SWIFT messages and validate their effectiveness.Process changes to payments processes as needed, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems.Test process changes to verify that procedures are functioning correctly and ensure compliance.Coordinate with paying banks to schedule updates for change implementation and ensure timelines are met.Requirements:Must-Have Skills:5+ years of operational experience, with a focus on financial operations and process management.3+ years of experience with SWIFT messaging, including familiarity with SWIFT message types and processes.Proven experience processing payments, including understanding payment flows and settlement mechanisms.Prior experience working in financial institutions, with an understanding of their operational workflows and systems.Soft Skills:Strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills to effectively address challenges.A self-starter who takes initiative, is comfortable with ambiguity, and demonstrates attention to detail.Highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
