This is not a position for someone who has over 8/9 years or more experience.Trading Systems EngineerWe are seeking a Trading Systems Engineer with 3-5 years of experience in Java and FIX protocol, with an eventual focus on transitioning to Python-based systems. The role requires strong communication skills to engage with external vendors, exchanges, trading platforms, and internal users within a dynamic trading floor environment.Key Responsibilities:Transition legacy Java-based processes to modern Python frameworks.Collaborate on evolving FIX protocol roles into Python-based solutions.Work with trading connectivity and trading systems, designing specs, and building scalable production systems.Manage connections to various trading platforms and ensure seamless integration.Engage with development teams to modernize frameworks and enhance system performance.Required Skills:Proficiency in Java (server-side or full-stack) for initial process transitions.Expertise in FIX protocol for trading system connectivity.Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Python or willingness to develop Python expertise.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for vendor and stakeholder interaction.Hands-on technical ability with a flexible, adaptable mindset.This role is ideal for someone open to evolving their skillset, as the focus will shift towards Python development and trading connectivity once the Java-to-Python transition is complete.
