Job Title: Lead Platform EngineerLocation: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid Only)About the RoleStratITech is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join a confidential client's engineering team. In this role, you'll design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems that power critical platform features, including secure APIs, real-time data pipelines, and containerized applications.You'll work closely with a diverse team of engineers to solve complex technical challenges and deliver high-performing, reliable, and secure systems. This position is perfect for a senior engineer with 4-6 years of experience who is eager to take ownership, drive innovation, and contribute to a high-impact platform.Additional NotesNo C2C or C2H will be considered. If you contact us, you will not receive a response and will be reported for spam.What You'll DoOptimize Postgres SQL queries for performance and scalability.Build robust, object-oriented Python applications to support backend systems.Design and deploy containerized environments using KubernetesDevelop and maintain secure APIs, including both RESTful and asynchronous implementations.Manage messaging systems with RabbitMQ and task queues using CeleryTroubleshoot, monitor, and enhance backend systems for reliability and scalability.Collaborate with peers and cross-functional stakeholders to implement scalable solutions.Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and testing.What We're Looking ForRequired Skills:4-6 years of experience building high-performance and scalable backend systems as a senior engineerStrong expertise in Postgres SQLobject-oriented Python, and KubernetesProficiency in designing and securing APIs, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.Hands-on experience with RabbitMQ and CeleryFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).Solid understanding of Unix/Linux systems.Competent troubleshooting and debugging skills in production environments.Nice-to-Have Skills:Experience with ETL processes or data-intensive applications.Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools to improve system reliability.Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.Attributes We Value:Hungry, humble, and smart: A self-driven learner with a collaborative spirit.Empowered problem-solver: Comfortable stepping out of their comfort zone to propose improvements.Team-first attitude: Thrives in a collaborative and inclusive environment.Team CultureGreat things happen when people bring their authentic selves to work.
