Our BLS and ALS services impact not only the lives of our patients, but their families and communities.Compensation: $150,000 per yearWhat We Offer: Full-Time Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life) 401(k) with company match Training and Career Development Paid Time-OffPosition Summary:The Payroll Director is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the organization's payroll operations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role involves directing payroll processing, optimizing payroll systems, managing staff, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support business goals. The Payroll Director plays a critical role in safeguarding payroll accuracy, maintaining confidentiality, and driving continuous improvement in payroll practices.Responsibilities: Create and maintain payroll policies and procedures to reflect regulatory changes. Evaluate and implement payroll systems and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with IT to ensure seamless integration between payroll, HRIS, and other systems. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline payroll processes and reduce errors. Prepare and present payroll reports, metrics, and analyses to leadership. Develop and execute payroll strategies aligned with organizational goals. Lead and mentor the payroll team, fostering a high-performance culture. Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on payroll-related issues and compliance. Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for 2,800 employees Ensure timely, accurate payroll disbursements while maintaining strict confidentiality. Direct the management of garnishments, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and retirement contributions. Handle complex payroll scenarios, including executive compensation and international payroll, if applicable. Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and Collective Bargaining payroll regulations. Oversee payroll audits and respond to inquiries from internal/external auditors and government agencies. Provide data and insights to support financial planning, audits, and compliance reporting. Monitor payroll budgets and forecast payroll-related expenses Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assignedQualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline 8-10 years of experience or an equivalent combination of related experience and education Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification preferred Knowledge of Union, or complex payroll experience required Minimum of 4 years in a leadership role Proven experience with payroll systems, such as ADP, Workday, UKG or similar platforms. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Advanced proficiency in payroll systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization Proficient in Windows MS Office, Open Table, OutlookPreferred Qualifications:Experience with specific timekeeping systems (e.g., ESO, ADP).Certification in payroll or timekeeping management.Previous supervisory or management experience.Working Conditions:The working conditions described below are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
