Temp to Perm, Designer Handbags

We are looking for an ongoing Freelance (potential Temp to Perm) Designer, Handbags for a top fashion company in NYC.Responsibilities: The Designer will work directly with Design and cross-functional teams to execute vision while achieving impeccable fit, construction and design aesthetics and strong technical skills.Partner with creative design team to achieve aesthetic while adhering to a production time and action calendarCollaborate with the Design Director and cross-functional partners to land on appropriate fit and functional intent for each product of handbag and Small Leather Goods designManage all requirements to develop and execute processes from product development to productionCreate and maintain detailed tech packs including specs, tolerances, grading, detail sketches with construction/stitching and fit evaluation commentsProvide direction, internally and externally, on corrective actions needed to bring samples to brand fit and stylingMeasure and evaluate handbags and SLG from proto sample through TOP samplesMaintain close partnership with production teams to maintain on-time delivery throughout the pre-production process and proactively monitor seasonal workloadRequired Qualifications:Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team orientedHandbag experience requiredAbility to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented, meticulous and creativeCreativity, technical capability and sensibility for merchandising; ability to sketchExtensive knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, color ways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim; familiarity with print design and manufacturingBachelor's Degree in Fashion Design3-5 years experience in handbag designHighly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe products, CAD and Mac computersExcellent Technical SkillsIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.The Solomon Page DistinctionSolomon Page offers a comprehensive benefit program for hourly employees.
