Public Relations Intern

THIS POSITION IS UNPAID; FOR COLLEGE CREDIT OR EXPERIENCE ONLYAs a public relations intern at The deFIANT, you will be an extension of the team and an integral component to the agency's daily tasks and operations. This internship will also provide you an opportunity to develop professional skills in order to learn the role of PR, branding, and influencer relations within an agency setting. This internship is a hands-on and semester-long (14-16 weeks) opportunity to gain experience with everyday tasks such as (capture media and influencer placements and research related to upcoming projects including brand partnerships, new business, etc).RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the preparation and distribution of media materialsAssist in conducting research for clientsAid in planning and/or attending client eventsHelp organize and file documents via Google Drive and DropboxAssist with media and influencer monitoringBuild and update media lists and databasesQUALIFICATIONSAvailable to start ASAPMust be available 2-3 days a week (at minimum) from 9 AM-4 PMMust be in the process of earning a degree (AA,BA,MA) from an accredited two or four year college or university (full-time or part-time enrollment) OR possess a strong desire to gain experience in this industry from working professionalsJournalism, communications, advertising or public relations major or concentration preferred, but not requiredPersonal laptop requiredPassion to learn about the PR industryExcellent writing, editing, organizational and interpersonal communication skillsKnowledge of social platforms including TikTok, Instagram and YouTubeWorking knowledge of OS X and Google SuiteAbility to multi-task and remain organizedResponsible for timely completion of workProfessional appearance and conductWe look forward to reviewing your resumes!ABOUT THE DEFIANT ()The deFIANT is a hybrid agency for the 21st century that focuses on unifying marketing and communications through innovative creative direction and multidisciplinary production.
