APPLY TODAY: NSU Career Opportunities | Nova Southeastern UniversityPosition: Accountant IV - Financial Aid (997535)Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial ExpertiseServe as a subject matter expert in student financial assistance and leasing classification/reporting per accounting standards.Audit LeadershipLead fiscal year audits related to student financial aid and assist with year-end reporting and audits.Financial ReportingPrepare, examine, and analyze accounting records and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.Data AnalysisAnalyze financial trends, business operations, and commitments to project revenues/expenses and provide insights.Reconciliation and ClosingPerform reconciliations, journal entries, and closing processes (monthly, quarterly, and annual), particularly for financial aid and leases.Grant and Contract ManagementHandle post-award grant activities, monitor compliance, manage budgets, approve expenditures, and process invoices.Stakeholder CollaborationCoordinate with internal and external units for reporting, financial updates, and grant oversight.Training and DevelopmentTrain and assist finance staff on best practices, policies, and systems; recommend and update procedures.ReportingSubmit reports to stakeholders, maintain fiscal records, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.Special ProjectsManage special assignments, attend professional development, and represent the organization in meetings/events.Policy and CommunicationDevelop and communicate policies, maintain positive relationships, and provide ad-hoc analyses as needed.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree.Experience: Eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in accounting or related field.Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree 2.
