We are seeking a skilled and proactive QA Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the project team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software solutions. You will be involved in both manual and automated testing, contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to meet project goals.ResponsibilitiesStatic analysis of User Stories and Requirements, and communicate any ambiguities or anomalies to the relevant stakeholdersDevelop and maintain test documentation and conduct tests according to the planProvide clear, accurate, and timely reporting of test resultsCollaborate effectively with project stakeholders and team membersBe proactive in taking responsibility and identifying areas for improvementRepresent the QA team during project meetings, providing progress and status updatesAccurately estimate testing efforts, including contingenciesBe a subject matter expert on the project and actively share knowledge with the teamContribute to both manual and automated testing across various testing types, including Component, Functional, Usability, Exploratory, Sanity, Regression, Integration, and End-to-End TestingContinuously drive improvements in testing practices and processesResearch new test tools, methodologies, and trends to enhance existing practicesQualificationsProven experience in software testing with a strong track record in the industryExcellent time-management, organizational skills, and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of testing methodologiesAbility to work independently and collaborate in a team environmentFamiliarity with best practices such as pair programming and code reviewsUnderstanding of Software Engineering principles (including SOLID, design patterns, TDD/BDD)Proficiency in version control systems, preferably Git/Github, and maintaining high-quality code in automation scriptsExperience with CI/CD tools and integration build/configuration best practicesIntermediate knowledge in at least one third-generation programming language (e.g., Java, C#) or scripting language (e.g., JavaScript, Python)Experience with test frameworks and tools such as JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, Gherkin, Selenium/Appium, or Cypress for automation testingAbility to scale automation tests and work with others' codeStrong knowledge of API testing and underlying technologies (XML, JSON, REST, SOAP)Experience with test management tools like JIRA, GitHub, or ZephyrFamiliarity with proxy tools like Charles/Fiddler for troubleshootingExcellent debugging skills with the ability to analyze application/network logsExperience identifying risks and assumptions and raising concerns to the teamUnderstanding of media streaming technologies, including major streaming protocols (e.g., DASH/HLS) and DRM solutions (e.g., WideVine, FairPlay)Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and KubernetesExposure to cloud computing platforms, preferably AWSFamiliarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana)Additional DetailsThe base range for this contract position is $52 - $62/per hour, depending on experience.Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
