Senior Cloud Systems EngineerOur client, a leading global private equity investor based in Boston, is seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the migration of systems from traditional data centers to a Microsoft Azure cloud environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in cloud systems, with strong experience in cloud migration, infrastructure management, and automation. The role also requires effective communication and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. This role is hybrid and requires 3 days on site per week.Responsibilities:Oversee and optimize the performance of both on-premise and cloud-based systems, ensuring smooth and efficient operationsInstall, configure, and manage new systems and applications to meet organizational needsCreate and maintain comprehensive system documentation as requiredContinuously monitor system performance and proactively address any issues to maintain high availabilityServe as the primary escalation point for the Service Desk and other IT teams, resolving issues and fulfilling service requests in a timely mannerDesign and implement cloud solutions that align with established standards and best practicesWork closely with internal IT teams, cloud service providers, and system integrators to ensure effective collaborationCommunicate clearly and effectively with IT teams, business leaders, and end-users both verbally and in writingLead and provide technical expertise during critical incidents, ensuring efficient resolution and recoveryAssist development teams in building cloud-native applications and related tools, contributing to the overall architectureQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and services, with a strong foundation in cloud-based solutionsAdvanced certification in cloud technologies, such as Microsoft Azure Solution Architect Expert, is requiredProven track record of successfully migrating complex environments, including both "Lift and Shift" and the refactoring of in-house applicationsIn-depth knowledge of cloud technologies, security best practices, and DevOps methodologiesExpertise in cloud infrastructure, including Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), networking, and automation toolsFamiliarity with managing cloud costs and the ability to design and maintain cost-efficient cloud environmentsExperience with DevOps tools such as GitHub, and proficiency in CI/CD pipelines, including JenkinsUnderstanding of ITIL IT Service Management practices, particularly in Change Management processesAbility to work flexible hours, including outside of regular business hours when neededExperience in the Private Equity or Finance sector is a plusOur Commitment to Diversity, Equity & InclusionThe Hollister Group is an equal opportunity employer.
