Working hours: 40 hours per weekMust be flexible to work in any shift, including weekendsAV Technician's Qualifications:3-5 years of experience with audio visual systems integration or serviceDante and AVOIP experience is a plus Work ObjectiveCTS certification or equivalent work experience. Candidates should be driven, methodical, focused, have strong troubleshooting skills and possess the ability to self-manage and work independently without close supervision.Ability to act as technical lead for special events.Experience operating video switcher (SDI, NDI).Experience mixing live sound with digital mixing consoles.Experience supporting hybrid video conference meetings.Ability to read and follow AV system flow diagrams and support documentation.Excellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills.Multi-tasking & ability to meet project deadlines.Live event experience is a plus.Experience configuring/troubleshooting audio DSP's (Biamp/ QSC/Clearone) a plus.Various services that the candidate shall provide in the Museum's operational environment.Routine Tasks:Turn on the temporary and permanent exhibits and perform daily inspection walkthrough of all audio visual technology to ensure proper operationMake exhibits available for early or late visits (before/after normal hours of operation)Assist in the installation of projectors, monitors, and other AV equipmentReplace projector bulbs when applicablePerform routine system maintenance as neededMaintain equipment inventoryOther duties as assignedOn-demand Tasks:Setup classrooms, conference spaces and other areas in the Museum for:Meetings and presentationsStaff training (Laptop setups)Video conferencingPortable sound systemsAudio recordingMuseum theaters:Set up of captioning equipmentAdjusting audio levels for both the theater audience and Live-Stream audienceSetting four camera views for live stream and recording.Assist with setting up of PowerPoint presentationsPremier Film Screenings:Work with outside contractors for special events set up,Video conferencing/Streaming:Setup video conferencing/streaming for hybrid programs.Support Museum staff with video conferencing as needed.Audio/Video recording:Manage client recordings.Reformat Museum recordings for event stakeholders and other departmental staff as needed.Special events -before/after hours, weekends and events at the Museum's Bowie Md.facilitySupport outside AV contractors' for initial setups and during the events.Robotic camera and video switch operation.Exhibit Installations:The temporary exhibits of the Museum run for 2-3 years before it gets replaced with a new exhibit.During the transition, dismantling of the old exhibit and installation of new exhibits will take place.The Museum's AV team will assist with the planning, installation and post-implementation management of the new exhibit's AV systems.Museum's AV Technology Profile
