GLC Government Services is seeking a Pharmacy Messenger to work a Government contract at a National Research Facility in Bethesda, MD.Shift/Hours: Full time, 40 hours/week, Hours may vary working the following shifts: 6a-2:30p, 7a-3:30p, 8a-4:30p, 9a-5:30p, 1p-9:30p, 3p-11:30p, including every other weekend. Must be able to work all shifts (days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays as requested by the client.Description:The Pharmacy Messenger shall perform non-judgmental aspects of transferring and delivering medications, intravenous solutions, and/or documents under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The incumbent shall complete projects assigned by the Lead Pharmacy Technician or Supervisory Pharmacist in a timely manner. The incumbent shall maintain ethical, professional behavior that ensures efficient, accurate, timely distribution and control of medications, intravenous solutions, and/or documents dispensed through the hospital. The incumbent shall maintain secure possession of transported materials and deliver them to a specified location in a timely manner. The incumbent shall maintain materials containing patient information in a discrete fashion during transport as to not openly expose this information to unauthorized persons. The incumbent shall reflect and maintain a good attitude representing the pharmacy department as well as the entire hospital.Required Skills:Must have a clear and active Pharmacy Tech License from any US State or TerritoryMust be Nationally Certified through PTCBMust be BLS certifiedMust have recent Inpatient Hospital experienceMust possess a proficient level of computer, verbal/written communications, and ability to prioritize is requiredMust be able to effectively read, write, and speak English fluentlyMust be able-bodied to transport medications and deliver floor stock throughout all patient care areas on a recurrent and periodic scheduleQualifications:Employee must be able to meet the following working condition and physical demand requirements with or without an accommodation:Intermediate work that may exert up to 50 pounds and may consistently carrying, pushing, pulling or otherwise moving objects while providing assistance to patientsExposure to potentially dangerous contaminated bodily fluids, blood and blood products, hazardous medications (such as chemotherapy solutions), and other contaminants as part of the daily hazards of the job
