We're on the lookout for a Junior Designer to join our dynamic design team.The ideal candidate for this role will have 3-5 years of experience with an Interior Design firm, encompassing a comprehensive understanding of new construction projects. Proficiency in tasks such as developing spec books, spatial planning, drafting elevations, and curating furniture, fabrics, and materials is expected. A Junior Designer should possess the ability and experience to tackle design assignments independently, with minimal guidance from a Senior Designer. Moreover, they are honing their technical skills and refining their presentation abilities to effectively showcase individual spaces to clients.Job requirements, skills, experience, compensation:Job Requirements:•Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.•3-5 years of experience in interior design, preferably in a professional setting or through internships.•Proficiency in design softwares - AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Excel.•Strong understanding of design principles & phases, spatial planning, budget, schedules and construction documentation.•Ability to collaborate effectively with senior designers, clients, and other stakeholders.•Excellent communication skills, both verbal and visual, for presenting design concepts and ideas.•Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.•Familiarity with sourcing materials, finishes, and furnishings, as well as vendor coordination. Experience with custom furniture & lighting design.•Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.Skills:•Conceptual design development and visualization.•Proficient in creating detailed drawings, floor plans, and elevations.•Selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E).•Rendering and presentation skills using digital tools or traditional methods.•Understanding of color theory, lighting design, and textile selection.•Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in design solutions.•Ability to interpret client needs and preferences into cohesive design concepts.•Collaboration and teamwork skills for working effectively within a design team.•Project management skills for organizing and prioritizing tasks effectively.•Adaptability and creativity in approaching design challenges.Experience:• Previous experience working on interior design projects, either independently or as part of a team.•Portfolio demonstrating design proficiency and creativity, including professional work.•Exposure to project phases from concept development to construction administration.•Experience assisting with client presentations, meetings, and project coordination.• Knowledge of industry vendors, suppliers, and resources. •Understanding of budgeting and cost estimation for interior design projects.•Familiarity with relevant software and digital tools used in the interior design industry.•Eagerness to continue learning and growing as a designer through ongoing education and professional development opportunities.Compensation: $25-30 per hour, based on experience
