The position is ONSITE based in Roseville, MI.Advanced Vehicle Assemblies (AVA) HQ is based in Rochester Hills, MI and supports North American HQ and plants in Roseville, Milan, MI and Monterrey, MXAVA is seeking a qualified Materials Manager to oversee our inventory and purchasing operations. Competent and experienced, with a thorough understanding of inventory management systems and procedures, your duties will include maintaining budgets, analyzing materials, and sourcing suppliers.The Materials Manager works with material personnel at the plants, as well as purchasing and sales employees. The Materials Manager handles the planning, procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products to meet company objectives and customer requirements.RESPONSIBILITIES:Directs and supervises the development of purchasing policies and procedures for the procurement of all materials, components, equipment and services required by the plant with the objective of obtaining optimum quality, price, delivery and service.Collects and provides management with data concerning long-range availability and prices of materials and components.Solicits and coordinates the maximum amount of supplier assistance necessary for the application of new and improved materials and processes at the plant.Maintains an effective balance between acquisition and possession costs of materials to minimize manpower fluctuations and maximize return on inventory capital.Directs the activities of warehousing, traffic, and general inventory storage to ensure most efficient, timely and cost-efficient material flow into, throughout, and out of the plant.Establishes annual operating objectives and departmental goals with related key performance indicators.Coordinates annual inventory.Keep employees aware of company policies, procedures and operational changes. Encourages employees to participate in personal and professional growth opportunities.Establishes, evaluates and implements new inventory control and/or other methods of material management to optimize efficiency and profitability.Administers and communicates necessary vendor quality programs such as, Vendor SPC, Supplier Quality Program and Vendor Evaluation to meet objectives and standards.Will establish, administer and control functions concerning Purchasing and Material Control to achieve needed vendor ratings, material certifications, etc. for all customer assessment programs.To improve Quality Ratings, must effectively implement cost reduction and quality improvement programs, both internal and external.Follow the procedures and work instructions of the ISO 14001:2015 and IATF 16949 System.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience in field.5 years of experience in materials processesIATF 16949 Internal Auditor Certification (or willing to obtain)Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Plex databaseAutomotive manufacturing background (required).STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.Strong working knowledge of industry standards and quality best practices.PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:Superior communication skills and can present his/her ideas in a clear, concise manner.Unquestioned integrity and values that the organization can trust without reservation.Consensus builder with strong persuasion skillsA highly motivated team player who contributes to an atmosphere in which people collaboratively, enthusiastically and effectively produce results.A good listener with a strong sense of selfMust be flexible with the ability to change, adapt and grow.Exhibits passion for the mission of the company and the needs of our clients.Advanced Vehicle Assemblies, LLC is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to building an inclusive and diverse workforce.
