Title: BEC IV - Event Sourcing and Contract Negotiation SpecialistLocation: Hybrid - Des Moines, IA (Preferred) or Charlotte, NCContract Duration: 12 Months (W2) with Weekly Pay (40 hours/week)Start Date: 2/8/2025Overview:Calculated Hire is seeking an Event Sourcing and Contract Negotiation Specialist for a Fortune 100 Financial Services company. This role focuses on venue sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management for corporate meetings and events.Responsibilities:Source venues using Cvent or similar event management software (e.g., Event Tree, Lanyon, StarSight).Negotiate multiple contracts weekly with hotels and other suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies.Collaborate with meeting and event planners to coordinate logistics and ensure seamless execution of events.Manage a high-volume workload, prioritizing assignments effectively to meet deadlines.Provide support for operational initiatives, including reporting financial details based on contracting outcomes.Foster relationships with internal partners and external vendors to facilitate efficient event operations.Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and quality standards.Qualifications:Required:3+ years of experience in meeting and event planning, sourcing, or contract negotiation.Proficiency with Cvent or similar tools for event management and venue sourcing.Strong negotiation skills, particularly in hotel or supplier contracting.Verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including presentation skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Preferred:Experience in the financial services industry.Background in hotel sales or supplier negotiation with corporate clients.Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.Knowledge of international hotel and supplier contracting best practices.Work Arrangement:Minimal travel required (possibly once per quarter).
