Russell Tobin is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator for a British multinational alcoholic beverage company. Job Title: Health and Safety CoordinatorLocation: Plainfield, IL (on-site)Job Type: Contract (with potential to go perm)Length: approx. 12-MonthsHours: Monday to Friday. Day shift time with flexible timingsNote: There may be some days the candidate needs to start late, and 2 or 3 times a month may need to work night shift to train the other employeesPay Rate: $27 - $30 per hourDescription:This person will be in charge of all safety related matters. Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment and in a safety role for at least 3 years is required. This is a hands-on position as this person will be on the floor for 60% of the day and moving around in the Plainfield plant checking on safety measures. Other 40% will be on desk.Qualifications and Experience Desired:Associates Degree OR someone with more experience in lieu of education3-5 years of Safety and Occupational Health work experienceRoot cause experienceIncident management and investigation experienceSkills: OSHA 10 required, EXCEL, CPR, SAFETY STANDARDS, ERGONOMICS, OSHASafety Programs, CPR, Instructor, Microsoft Office, Operations, Regulatory Compliance, Audit, Rn License, Claims, Site Safety, Testing Programs, Microsoft PowerPoint, TradingMOC experience useful (Management of Change - a systematic approach to managing health, safety, and environmental risks when a company makes changes to it's facilities, operatios or procedures)Must be self-motivated able to work with minimum supervisionTraining Presentation skills (classroom set-up)Ability to engage, motivate and keep atmosphere funNot afraid to communicate and make recommendations for operations improvementMicrosoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Access and OutlookAble to work on a fast changing work environmentSPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: OSHA, federal, state, and local safety standards; Ergonomics, Industrial hygiene, investigative techniques; excellent oral and written skills.Valid certification in First Aid and CPR (instructor preferred)Must be able to work occasional later hoursKey Outputs:Support internal programs, ie.
