As an Estimator II, you will be a member of a dynamic, collaborative, high-performing team. Your focused area of responsibility will be on the coordination of estimates, quantity take-offs, subcontractor solicitation, preparing bid tabulations and pre/post solicitation activities. Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once along with process ownership, and effective team coordination will be a hallmark of your work. Essential Duties and Overall Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following, as other duties may be assigned:Essential Job Functions:I. Provides support to Estimating TeamReceives and reviews quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.Records bids on bid forms, ensures all submittal requirements are met and reviews for completeness and accuracy.Ensures compliance with "instruction to bidder" requirements on bid proposals.Ensures bid form and necessary attachments are completed in advance.May assist with various projects upon request.May perform as operator of spreadsheet and bid book.II. Participates in group bid effort for assigned projects.Contacts subcontractor and supplier divisions as indicated by Estimating Mgr.Receives calls from subs and suppliers with price quotes or plan requests.Reports weak areas to others during solicitation period and requests additional sources for subcontractors and suppliers.Answers questions from subcontractors and suppliers regarding bids.III. Coordinates small estimates from beginning to endPerforms take-offs for assigned jobs in a timely manner.Reviews own materials/work for accuracy.Ensures job plan, methods of construction, and schedule are completed.Conducts plan and specification reviews on assigned projects.Keeps informed of new projects coming up for bid. IV. Performs other duties as assigned.Other Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and maintain business relationships withco-workers , clients, trade partners, and industry experts. Attend local and regional industry trade shows and conferences Support Preconstruction Department on compilation and submission of project bids.Understand that a dynamic, energetic Estimating Department sometimes means important tasks go to "all hands on deck" or whoever can help in a pinch.
