MERCHANDISE PLANNERJob Summary: The Merchandise Planner analyzes sales trends, forecasts demand, and develops inventory plans to maximize profitability and minimize excess inventory. They will work closely withvarious teams such as Buying, Operations, and Finance to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.Key Responsibilities:Sales AnalysisAnalyze historical sales data and current market trends to identify patterns andmake informed decisions regarding inventory levels.Demand Forecasting: Utilize metrics, market research, and input from various departments toforecast future product demand by channel.Purchase Budgeting: Develop and maintain purchase budgets that align with sales forecasts, seasonality, and category growth while minimizing stock-to-salesChannel ManagementBe responsible for managing OTB for specific channels, understanding theparticular business financials, and being a leader within the channel to ensure planning andbuying actions are swiftly actioned on.Assortment Planning: Work with buying teams to develop product assortments that meetcustomer demand and align with brand strategies.Allocation and Replenishment: Work alongside the allocator to manage inventory based ondemand forecasts and inventory levels, and manage replenishment processes to ensure optimal inventory levels.Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, sell-through rates, and other key performanceindicators to identify risks and opportunities and take appropriate actions to optimize inventory turnover and reduce excess inventory.Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Buying/Merchandising, Operations, Production, Demand Planning, and Finance, to ensure alignment of inventory plans with overall business objectives.Analysis and ReportingPrepare regular reports and analysis on key performance metrics, suchas sales, inventory turnover, and margin, and provide insights and recommendations to drive business growth and profitability.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or a related field1-2 years of experience in Planning, Buying, or related roles.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholdersProficient in Microsoft Excel, Gsheet, and other data analysis toolsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentDetail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to multitaskA passion for streetwear fashion and an understanding of the target audience42Tech, Full Circle, Shopify, and Google Analytics knowledge a plus
