This role involves supervising the front-of-house team members in line with departmental policies and procedures, as well as managing all front-of-house operations. The Café Manager is responsible for creating a warm and welcoming experience for every guest.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guestsSupervises and coordinates team member responsibilities to ensure that the cafe is running efficiently and profitablyParticipates in interviewing, hiring, and training new candidates Responsible for the scheduling of assigned departmentsParticipates in growth opportunities and team member development of all front-of-house team membersRegulates all POS functions requiring a manager's approvalAddresses and resolves guest and team member concernsResponsible for reconciling end-of-shift financialsResponsible for inventorying and ordering operational suppliesAbility to perform the job duties of all supervised team membersPossesses in-depth knowledge of all food and beverage menusEnsures that the venue is compliant with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and company policies Ensures Department of Health and company sanitation standardsPractical knowledge of the job duties of all supervised team membersCommunicates clearly and concisely with heart-of-house team members during operation Ensures the completion of all opening and closing procedures by FOH team membersEnsures the replacement or repair of all breakage and damage of equipment or furnitureAttends, leads, and participates in any training sessions, departmental meetings, or pre-service meetingsLearn by listening, observing other team members, and sharing knowledge while leading by examplePortrays a positive and professional attitudeDemonstrates knowledge of the venue, Tao Group Hospitality, and its partnersWorks as part of a team and provides help and support to all fellow team membersAssist and/ or complete additional tasks as assignedEDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:Minimum 2-3 years of previous hospitality supervisory/management experience within a high end café or quick service setting is essential Hands-on experience with professional coffee machines is required Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in hospitality and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related fieldStrong guest service foundation, ability to coach, build a team, problem solve, and leadership skills requiredMust be organized, self-motivated, and proactive with strong attention to detailProficient in Windows Microsoft Office, POS systems, Oracle knowledge preferred21+ years of ageSKILLS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT / SCHEDULEThe work environment characteristics and/or physical demands described here are representative of those a Team Member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
