Our lawyers are responsible for managing complex healthcare litigation cases, conducting legal research, and advancing our clients strategic priorities. Our lawyers draft legal pleadings, are actively involve in case management, negotiate on behalf of our clients, and collaborating with a wide range of healthcare professionals, both in and outside the firm. The firm invests significantly in technology and believes in the power it has to improve healthcare delivery and dispute resolution.The Paralegal is responsible for providing support for legal team to facilitate efficiency and accuracy; ensure files, documents, exhibit preparation, calendar of events are accurate, coordinated and prepared to meet client objectives. The Paralegal provides effective management and support of the legal team for client related matters. This should include superior organizational and task-oriented follow-up to ensure full support of the attorneys in anticipation of upcoming legal matters. The ideal candidate will also have a keen interest in technology and a passion for leveraging AI to enhance legal practice and client outcomes.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Explore and implement AI tools and technology to streamline legal processes, enhance research capabilities, and improve client serviceReview cases and medical claims assigned timely and completelyIn partnership with attorney, identify key documents, issues and develop strategy to answer question "What has to happen next in order to resolve this matter?"In partnership with attorney, devise case plans, timelines and discovery plans necessary to move medical claims and cases forward effectivelyManage caseload and day to day document and filing needs required to effectively represent client interestsCollect and organize documents necessary to ensure evidence has been gatheredEnsure discovery related documents are prepared, filed, and exchanged in a timely mannerReview medical records and billing documents to assist with analysis of claimsPrepare requests for authority to file litigation/arbitration, as required by client protocolsIdentify and communicate directly with physicians and other witnesses or information sources as neededIn partnership with attorney, resolve cases and claims for >80% assigned value within 365 days from referral (on average)Manage cost to collect on medical claimsKeep team lead updated on medical claims and cases as appropriate. Identify matters likely to proceed to trial or hearing early and ensure case plans are documented and communicated frequentlyUtilize E-Discovery applications and AI for purposes of document management and production, including redacting and bates stampingCommunicate with Opposing Counsel with regard to discovery and related mattersBill timely, accurately, professionally, and completely for work done ATTORNEY SUPPORT: Trial and Hearing preparationFact gatheringDocument ManagementDraft and proofread pleadings, briefs, motions, discovery templatesCourt and arbitration filingsResearch law sources and court procedureIn partnership with attorney, using paralegal skills strategically to review and assess assigned medical claims and matters.
