A New York City health services organization is currently seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join one of their facilities in Brooklyn.About the Opportunity:Department: Outpatient DepartmentSchedule: Monday to FridayHours: 9am to 5pmResponsibilities:Monitor patient arrival and coordinate patient flow with the Physician and other care team members to ensure a positive patient experienceEscort patients to exam room, monitor patient wait times, assist patient in preparing for exam and advise the Physician when patient is readyPrepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests and documents in EMRPerform blood draws and EKGs, as orderedAssist the Physician with procedures as appropriate (e.g. sets up area, obtains equipment, and supplies, witness consents as needed)Assist patients with referrals, appointments as necessaryKeeps adequate supplies available by inventorying stock on a regular basis; maintains inventory of pharmaceutical samples and maintains log book for reviewPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:High School Diploma / GEDCompletion of a Medical Assistant (MA) programMedical Assistant (MA) certificationCPR certificationEKG and Phlebotomy trainingSolid assessment, clinical, and documentation skillsPatient orientedGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)Associate's and/or Bachelor's DegreeEKG and Phlebotomy certificationsEPIC experience
