Horticulture Procurement Specialist

A multi-state presence with a small company feel, our mission is to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community.Responsibilities: Sourcing, acquiring, and coordinating the logistics with landscape and construction materialsNegotiate the best pricing for top quality materials and freightResponsible for generating purchase orders, invoice management and job costingInternally build and manage relationships while providing support for Project Management teamsSourcing and pricing new suppliers and vendorsPrepare submittals for plant material and select hard materials when necessaryEnsure that growers deliver high quality productReconcile and approve purchase orders and invoicesMonitor plant palette inventory and promote horticultural best practicesAssist the monthly financial closeoutAssist with logistics and strategic project planningDevelop positive relationships with Landscape Architects, Brokers, and VendorsQualifications: Extensive knowledge of horticulture to include trees, shrubs, turf, flowers and mulchAbility to read and understand plans and specificationsAbility to build strong relationships with subcontractors and vendorsAbility to negotiate with suppliers and vendorsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsBackground in Horticulture, Turf Management, Greenhouse or Nursery a plusProficiency in Word, Excel, OutlookWhat we provide:Competitive salaryMedical benefits with dental and visionFlexible Spending Account401(k) planFlexible work/life balanceFamily-oriented company cultureRuppert Landscape is an Equal Opportunity and E-verify Employer.
