Automation TechnicianPosition Type: Direct HirePosition Salary: 28/HR - 32/HR (Depending on Experience)Position Location: Columbia, SCShifts6am-6pm Sun/Mon/Tues/every other Wed6pm-6am Sun/Mon/Tues/every other Wed + shift differential6am-6pm Thur/Fri/Sat/every other Wed6pm-6am Wed/Thur/Fri/every other Saturday + shift differentialWhat you'll receive for the great work you provide:Full range of medical benefits, dental, visionLife InsuranceMatching 401KPTOTuition ReimbursementEmployee discounts at local retailersGeneral Purpose: AutomationSupports automation engineering services, production automation, and activitiesMechanical: Repairs and maintains process machinery and mechanical equipment such as conveyor systems and production machines and equipmentElectrical: Maintains and troubleshoots in-circuit and functional testers, associated test fixtures, stress chambers and chamber racks to ensure manufacturing test equipment is on-linePrinciple Accountabilities:Maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying automation/robotic system componentsTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceabilityPerform scheduled preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related componentsEnsure preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment are completed on a regularly scheduled basisUnderstanding of PLCsRead and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical diagrams including complex automated system drawingsCollaborate with the automation team in the qualification process of automated systemsRecords procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and recommendations for changes in product or methodMaintains software, documentation and equipment to the latest revision or operational specificationsAssists engineers in developing and designing hardware and software required for all automation solutions per specificationsTrains other technicians and operators on products, processes and equipmentProper use of power tools and measuring equipmentStrong awareness of safetyThrough troubleshooting, identifies machine malfunctions and isolates the failure mechanismRepairs the failure mechanism in the most cost-effective mannerPerforms preventive maintenance at specified intervals and schedulesPerforms calibrations and re-qualifications on equipment at specified intervals and schedulesAssists process technicians and engineers with the installation and removal of process equipmentAnalyzes and implements corrective action reports and process tracking mechanismsRecords times and problems in equipment logsProvides daily equipment functioning activity informationDisassembles instruments and equipment and inspects components for defectsAligns, repairs, replaces, and balances component parts and circuitryAssists engineers in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain precision accuracy of measuring, recording and indicating instruments and equipmentMay require travel to other Flex sites or equipment vendors' locationsHighest level may perform both software and hardware maintenance
