Proud Partner of the Green Bay Packers.The Position:The Construction Safety Manager will foster a culture of proactivity, accountability, engagement and sustainability through robust programs and processes with the primary goal of reducing losses and liability throughout multiple locations. This key role will lead EHS matters to ensure the Company meets or exceeds legislative, corporate and industry requirements, as well as best practice standards. The safety of our team members, whether on jobsites, in offices, or anywhere in between, is our highest priority. Role and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement a safety-oriented strategy across the region and measure, report and achieve key metric goalsDevelop specific environmental, health and safety objectives and create action plans to meet those objectivesDevelop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve resultsEffectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issuesManage multiple conflicting prioritiesMaintain, review and report safety performanceIdentify opportunities for improvement, along with implementing preventative and corrective actions as requiredWork with regional leadership teams to ensure all key safety operational controls are in place and the safety action items are resolved on a timely basisCreate a proactive approach to safety excellence through cross functional cooperation, communication, and trainingDevelop and/or coordinate safety training and training toolsIntegrate and partner with business leaders to promote a proactive safety culture focused on incident prevention and regulatory complianceOversee internal health and safety audit actions to ensure regulatory complianceManage implementation of site-specific health and safety programs to ensure regulatory and corporate standards are effectively integrated into standard operating proceduresProvide Safety Policy guidance and interpretation to field management when appropriateEnsure countermeasures are properly identified to prevent reoccurrence by utilizing a robust incident investigation processAnalyze trends and metrics in partnership with Safety Team and Lead Safety Manager to develop solutions, programs, and policiesProvide strategy in the development or deployment of a behavior-based safety programEnsure timely coordination of all regulatory or Company required testing and training, including industrial hygiene testingMaintain Safety Information System records and compile reports from databasePerform other related duties as required and assigned The Benefits:Team members at the Walbec Group are offered competitive pay and benefits that align with our values while supporting good health and a balanced life now and into the future. We are big fans of our "no premium medical plan" and HRA contribution (with participation in wellness initiatives), company-paid short-and long-term disability with company contribution, paid parental leave, profit sharing, and a robust Walbec training program.The Location:This role is located primarily in Waukesha, but projects will vary by location throughout the local area, or the state, so reliable transportation and/or a willingness to travel to any job site is required as needed.The Candidate:Bachelor's degree in Health and Safety or related disciplines Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving recordSkills RequirementsMinimum of 3 - 8 years in Safety field, preferably in heavy/highway constructionKnowledge of MUTCD guidelinesOSHA 500 certification First Aid/CPR certifiedProven ability to train large groups of employees Knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 rules and regulations Demonstrated knowledge of all other applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulationsMust possess a theoretical and practical knowledge of regulatory standardsMust have exceptional skills in building interpersonal relationships, including a high degree of judgment, diplomacy, and ability to influence othersAbility to drive decision making process to conclusions/solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skillsExcellent client management and business literacy skillsAbility to interact with employees at all levelsSelf-directed and motivatedTake initiative to identify and anticipate organizational needs and make recommendations for implementationCertificationsAssociate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferredATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) or Traffic Control Technician (TCT) preferredARTBA Safety Certification for Transportation Project Professional (SCTPP) preferred Why Should You Apply?First, because we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture here at the Walbec Group.
