DescriptionOur MEP Divisions provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering services for existing and new buildings to Architects, Owners, Property Managers, and the construction industry with a focus on supporting the architectural industry. We provide design services for new construction, building renovations and additions, building infrastructure upgrades, and construction support services to ensure proper implementation. We also provide forensic engineering services to the insurance and legal industries related to claim losses, construction deficiencies, or defects.We're seeking a highly qualified individual to help build and manage an MEP Engineering Division serving the Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia region.Required Qualifications:Accredited mechanical, electrical,l or architectural engineering degreeProfessional Engineering licenseMinimum 10 years experience in an MEP environmentProficiency in mechanical or electrical design, preferably bothStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplinesKnowledge of architecture and structural engineering disciplinesAutoCAD required; BIM preferredStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong organizational skillsStrong marketing and business development skillsA valid Driver's License is RequiredAble to climb ladders and perform site assessmentsResponsibilities:Manage a staff of MEP professionals, including annual performance reviewsManage MEP design projects, including coordination between disciplinesPerform engineering designs for one or more disciplinePerform engineering evaluations and studiesPerform construction cost estimatingPerform quality control review of designs prepared by othersProvide mentoring and training to junior engineering staffPrepare qualifications for engineering servicesPrepare proposals for engineering services, including fee proposalsParticipate in membership with trade organizations; attend marketing and business development meetings and events, etc.Manage project budgetsManage employee utilizationPrepare project invoicing with assistance from the accounting departmentAssist the accounting department with managing client accounts receivableResponsible for the profitability of the divisionDevelop strategic plans consistent with the firm goalsReport regularly to a Principal of the firmRepresent the Division for corporate-level meetings, correspondence, etc.
