Boutique Business Litigation Law Firm in El Segundo has an opening for a mid to senior level associate. We are looking to expand our team with a lawyer ready to seize the opportunity to take on increasing levels of responsibility, develop business, and work toward and potentially earn a partnership position. The ideal candidate graduated from an ABA accredited law school, has strong writing skills, is able to function with minimal supervision, and has four to eight years of experience in the relevant practice areas.We represent plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts and in arbitration, in business litigation, employment, and attorney-client disputes. Our business litigation practice includes partnership disputes, trade secrets, investment disputes, antitrust matters, RICO, fraud, and business torts. Our employment practice includes representation of and providing counseling and advice to both employees and employers. We represent lawyers and their former clients in disputes with one another, including legal malpractice, breach of fiduciary, and legal fee matters.We offer competetive compensation and benefits, business development support, and collegial working environment. The firm requires attorneys to bill approximately 1800 hours per year, with some additional time commitment to business development, including writing articles, presentations, and networking events. Business development success is rewarded with year end bonuses and incentivized compensation plans, as appropriate.Responsibilities:Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation mattersPrepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefsConduct discovery and take depositionsRepresent clients in court proceedings and hearingsCollaborate with internal teams and external parties to gather necessary information for casesProvide legal advice and guidance to clientsStay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trendsQualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a top 50 ABA accredited law schoolAdmission to the California State BarProven experience in litigation, preferably in a law firm settingStrong research, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in legal drafting and document preparationFamiliarity with legal research platforms such as Lexis-Nexis and WestlawAbility to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneouslyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offReferral programVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayEvenings and Weekends as needed
