Summary:Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent leads a shift of hourly employees to accomplish goals and tasks, assures flawless execution, customer service, high productivity, and provides a good working environment for all employees. The Operations Supervisor is a key leader for the site and represents good work ethics and follows company policy and direction.Supervisory Responsibility:The Operations Supervisor supervises the operations lead, forklift operators, customer service representatives and any additional general labor (i.e. Inbound, Outbound, Pick, Pack, Ship).Essential Job Functions:Operations Supervision (50%)Ensure adherence to production schedule by warehouse staff to ensure proper work priorityCoordinate work activities of employees to maintain productive workflowForecast daily workloads and plan staffing accordingly to manage labor resources efficientlyMaintain efficient use of warehouse space to reduce inventory movements and to increase efficiencyReview and request equipment, materials, or supplies required to process ordersOversee maintenance of work equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to ensure proper and safe functioningTransport goods within warehouse and in/out of delivery vehicles via forklift or pallet jackCompliance and Recordkeeping (5%)Ensure safety programs, workplace sanitation requirements, policies/procedures, and established departmental operations are followed by staff and comply with federal, state, and regulatory agency requirementsCross check item quantities received/shipped against shipping orders and notify staff of inconsistenciesMaintain records of products received and stored using scanners and manual checklistsStaff Supervision (25%)Recruit, hire, train, coach, and evaluate performance of operations staffAssign and prioritize duties and projects for departmental staff membersManage daily time tracking for assigned staffCoach, counsel, discipline, and terminate direct reports and site staff in accordance with company policyCustomer Service (20%)Trouble shoot and assure floor execution for peak customer demandMaintain daily communication with client concerning all aspects of their businessManage client requests and escalations in a timely mannerCompetencies:Attention to detailAdaptability/flexibilityGood spatial orientationStrong driving skillsGood written and oral communication skillsStrong leadership and training skillsEquipment: Stand up forklift, electric pallet jack, handheld scanner, two-way radio, computer, and cell phoneSafety:Follow JT Logistics safety policies and proceduresSpecial Conditions of Employment:Employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and drug screeningQualifications: High school diploma or equivalentThree years of leadership experience in a warehouse and/or logistics environment, or equivalentDisclaimer: This document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this job.
