Summary:Our client is searching for a Sr. Research Associate for their Synthetic Biology Team.The synthetic biology team is a R&D task force for biotech and pharmaceutical clients across a wide variety of disease indications and therapeutic modalities in the cell and gene therapy space. The organization uses DNA, RNA, and protein engineering paired with massively parallel screening to create technologies that enhance the performance, precision, and safety of cell, gene, and nucleic acid therapies. The Sr. RA will join the synthetic biology team to contribute to the development of technologies for our external partners as well as the expansion of the organization's SynBioplatform. The research associate will evaluate the function of genetic elements (such as promoters, UTRs, and synthetic switches), often assisting with novel assay development, brainstorming, and troubleshooting. Responsibilities & RequirementsDesign, troubleshoot, and optimize new assays and protocols for a variety of cell types to measure expression, function and/or cell phenotypesClone libraries of DNA, RNA, or protein variantsPrepare samples for NGSScreen libraries of variants in primary human cells and immortalized cell linesAnalyze and record data and provide advice on project future directionsPresent work internally and potentially externally.Technical Skills & QualificationsMammalian cell culture including experience culturing primary human immune cells and transfecting/transducing multiple types of cellsGraphPad Prism (fluency)Lentiviral production (titering) (transfection), and harvest/purification, Expertise cloning libraries and preparing samples for NGSMammalian cell assays including ELISA and multicolor flow cytometry Molecular Biology (e.g. PCR, cloning)
