If so, we want to hear from you!About Us:Friends for Youth's mission is to empower underserved youth through mentorship and community relationships.Our vision is to provide every young person who needs a mentor with a mentor.Position Summary:We are seeking a motivated Development Internto join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our Development Coordinator and contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our fundraising efforts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about nonprofit work.Key Responsibilities:Data Entry & ManagementDatabase management, including data entry, maintaining accurate records of donor data and digital file organization to support the organization's fundraising efforts.Social Media and Website ManagementCreate, schedule, and post engaging content on our social media and website platforms to boost community engagement and brand visibility. Updating the organization's website with relevant information.Branding SupportCollaborate with the team on our rebranding project, contribute fresh ideas and creative input and continually represent the brand of the organization. Impact StorytellingInterview program participants and alumni, drafting compelling mentorship stories that highlight the impact of our programs and the lives we transform.Fundraising Event SupportHelp plan, promote, and execute quarterly fundraising events that drive community support and donor engagement.Qualifications:Current college student pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Development, or a related field.Strong interest in nonprofit development and operations.Passion for nonprofit work and a strong interest in brand building and awareness.Familiarity with database management and/or CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) with the ability to work with confidential information.Written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to craft compelling narratives.Self-starter and able to take initiative Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Creative mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.Reliable transportation.What We Offer:Hands-on experience working in a dynamic nonprofit environment.Mentorship from experienced professionals in development, fundraising, and marketingOpportunity to build your portfolio with impactful projects.Flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments.A chance to make a difference in the lives of underserved youth!Internship Details:LocationHybrid Monday/Friday virtual, Tuesday - Thursday in person; work is based in Palo Alto, CATime CommitmentFebruary 2025 - December 2025 (Up to 16 hours per week)CompensationUnpaid; potential for stipend and/or full-time position at the end of internshipHow to Apply:Interested candidates should send aResumeCover letterWriting sample(preferably a social media post or short-form storytelling piece)to monica@.
