PositionSales Representative (Full-Time, Exempt)Job LocationTorrance, CaliforniaWork Hours40 hours per week, Regular Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (includes 1-hour lunch break)Job DescriptionSummaryAs a Sales Representative for our food manufacturing/import company, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, building strong customer relationships, and promoting our range of products to clients such as retailers, distributors, and food service businesses. Passion for our products and Japanese food will be critical in achieving sales targets and expanding our market presence. This position requires regular business travel within the West Coast region to meet clients, attend trade shows, and explore new opportunities.Key ResponsibilitiesSales Strategy DevelopmentIdentify and target potential customers within the food sector.Develop and implement effective sales strategies to meet company goals.Participate in trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.Customer Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.Understand customer needs and provide tailored solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.Product KnowledgeGain in-depth knowledge of our product lines, including ingredients, benefits, and applications.Conduct product demonstrations and presentations for clients.Market ResearchMonitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences.Provide feedback to management on market opportunities and challenges.Sales ReportingMaintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory levels.Prepare regular reports on sales performance and market trends.Sales OperationsCollaborate with marketing, production, and logistics teams to align sales initiatives.Support daily operations, including picking up products from the warehouse and arranging deliveries to customers as needed.E-Commerce SupportAssist with daily operations of e-commerce platforms such as Amazon, Walmart, and the company's online store as needed.QualificationsExperienceMinimum of 3 years of sales experience in the food industry, food service, or related sectors preferred.No specific sales or food sector experience required; passion for Japanese food and willingness to learn are essential.SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in English.Preference given to candidates who speak Japanese, Chinese, or Korean in addition to English.Proven ability to negotiate and close sales effectively.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.AttributesPassion for food and a keen understanding of industry trends.Self-motivated and target-driven with a strong work ethic.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.TravelRegular business travel within the West Coast region to meet clients, attend trade shows, and explore new market opportunities.Initial training in Japan during the first year.To apply, please send your resume to asasaki@.
