Position: Maintenance TechnicianPay: $35+/hourLocation: Carol Stream, IL / Elgin, ILReason for opening: Growth / New FacilityOther: Role is eligible for overtime and a sign-on bonusSummary of JobThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. Engages in setting up and maintaining machinery and equipment. Engages in repairing and maintaining parts of equipment and machines.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesMaintains a clean and safe work area.Ensures timely repair of facility, equipment, and machinery.Oversees building and manufacturing equipment.Engages in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.Carries out inspections of facilities and equipment to identify issues.Tracks workstation and personnel supplied tools.Performs preventative maintenance schedules.Responds to emergency calls for maintenance.Performs troubleshooting to diagnose and solve repair issues.Communicates plans for upper-level improvements to maintenance personnel.Helps direct any additional repairmen and subcontractors as needed.Submits repair logs and reports on daily activities through E-Maintenance.Aids in the development of safety policies and procedures.Reads and interprets equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.Researches parts needed and generates parts request to ensure adequate inventory, while informing the team on inventory levels.Reaches out to external sources for quotes.CompetencyPossess a high regard for safety in the workplace.Good math, language, reading skills.Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.Excellent teamwork skills.Knowledge of warehouse arrangement and functionality.Knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems with an emphasis on pneumatic systems.Good written and verbal communication.Strong organizational skills.EnvironmentExposure to moving equipment.Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.Humidity may exceed 80%.Noise may exceed 85dB+.Physical CharacteristicsFrequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%.Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 60 pounds).Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice-assisted as needed.Position TypeFull timeShift WorkWilling to work off shifts (on-call)Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma/GED.Minimum of 2 years Maintenance experience.Forklift certification per OSHA standards.Affirmative Action/EEO Statement/InclusionWe offer equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibit discrimination and harassment of any type based on race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
