Position TitleProduction Extern (Non-Sterile) LocationBrooklyn, NY Department Production Reports toProduction DirectorPosition SummaryResponsible for compounding non-sterile pharmaceutical preparations under the supervision of the compounding pharmacist. Essential FunctionsNon-sterile compounding may include but is not limited to the compounding of capsules, oral liquids, topical medications, nasal preparations, suppositories, troches, tablet triturates, or lollipops. Hormones and other potentially hazardous chemicals are used in non-sterile compounding. Standards for accuracy and potency shall be consistently met. Compounding intern shall compound medication, fill and label prescriptions, and prepackaged bulk medications. Environmental monitoring and validation testing shall be performed according to policies and procedures. Interns shall always work under the supervision of a Pharmacist. QualificationsEducationNew York-licensed Limited Intern permit with compounding training or equivalent experience preferred. Professional ExperienceSpecialized SkillsPosition requires close attention to detail. Compounding intern shall have knowledge of and follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures. Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to lift up to thirty pounds. Technical SkillsFamiliarity with Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications and Digital dexterity, e.g. use of computer keyboard. Physical and Mental Requirements:Physical ActivitiesStanding, sitting, reaching, grasping, lifting, walking, climbing and kneeling. Mental ActivitiesPerform activities requiring sustained concentration. e.g. planning. Compensation: $32 p/h
