About the RoleThe Associate Denim Designer will facilitate the design and development of Ariat Women's Denim products and be responsible for Girl's denim. This Role is highly collaborative across designers, and has strong interface with partners in sourcing, technical development, and product management. Products must be built to meet consumer needs, company gross margin objectives, and developed to meet the departmental line calendar. This position will report to the Design Director, Women's Denim.You'll Make a Difference byOwning design and development, under supervision, for Girls Western Denim productsActively participating in trend research, building concept boards, and bringing new ideas to the teamLeading trim development and handoff, maintaining master lists, and partnering with the materials team on trims libraryAssisting designers with embroidery designAssisting in the set up of seasonal product development sketch packagesMaintaining and updating replenishment sketches and BOM's in PLM across categoriesDelivering accurate specifications - bill of materials, wash communication, and sketches using Adobe IllustratorFacilitating all tech pack development: sketch maintenance, updates, and sending out tech packs to factoriesSupporting and organizing wash development with designers and the Wash Developer with a learning mindsetReviewing prototypes/sales samples/PPSs, evaluating aesthetic, workmanship, function, and production feasibility, and communicating with the design, tech, and sourcing teamsAttending fit sessions and communicating style changes and corrections to the design teamBuilding seasonal line sheets for review meetings in Lucid SparkTaking on miscellaneous projects including sample management, line presentation, sales meeting preparation, etc.About You1-3 years design experience with basic knowledge of denim construction and fabric preferred (but not required)Exceptional communications skills-verbal, written, and able to communicate visually (i.e. photographs, diagrams, sketches, etc)Motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and performs well in a fast-paced, highly collaborative team environmentAbility to understand and design for multiple consumer segmentsDetail oriented with outstanding follow-throughAbility to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and meet calendar deadlines independently of supervisionResponsive to feedback and capable of adapting quickly to changeProficient use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, MS Office, and PLM system.
