Maintains reports and verifies compliance. Supervises employees, contractors and visitors by spending a significant amount of time in the plants ensuring all programs and procedures are adequate and being followed. Sustains and improves current behavior based safety programs and policies. Leads and participates in all incident investigations. Conducts internal facility audits and facility self-assessments and develops and tracks corrective actions for audit findings.Responsibilities:Personally demonstrate a commitment to food sanitation and human safetyDevelop, analyze and submit reportsCalibrate and repair safety equipmentSupervise the implementation of policies and proceduresDevelop and present training for new hires, contractors, and location employees as requiredDirect employees interactionPurchase and maintain inventory of safety, food sanitation safety suppliesDevelop and maintain proper document retentionMaintain required paperwork such as OSHA 300 logs in compliance with federal lawLead and participate in on-site safety committeeIt's for you, if:You can think analytically and conceptuallyYou have impact and influenceYou are information seeking and business savvyYou are a good strategic business plannerYou are willing to work outside normal business hoursYou are willing to travel (50%)Requirements:5 to 10 years of experience in the EHS profession, specifically supporting multi-site manufacturing businesses, preferably in food manufacturing. Bachelor's degree in a related field, ASP, CSP, CIH or PE designation preferred. Adhere to all OSHA operating and safety standards and company policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast-paced work environment.Proven experience with Energy Isolation (LOTO) OSHA standard and compliance required.Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisionsProven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environmentAbility to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.Willing to challenge and be challenged in order to effectively partner with all levels of the business.Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English.
