The Fire Alarm Installer will be responsible for installing and maintaining fire alarm systems, conducting inspections, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring compliance with NFPA and NEC standards.Responsible for installation, programming, and testing of fire alarm systems per project design drawingsRead and interpret fire alarm and electrical drawings and specificationsReview drawings and verify that parts for the job are accurateInstall and program fire alarm control panels and other equipmentMount devices, and install conduit (if applicable) and wiring to connect system components per design drawings and applicable building codes and standardsPerform all tasks associated with fire alarm installation, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics to ensure optimal wiring layoutsIdentify and repair any troubles and test all devices and components to ensure proper operationPerform final acceptance testing with the AHJProduce reports and other documentation to certify the installation of the systemOther duties may be assignedQualificationsKnowledge of fire alarm systems, electrical systems, and building codesExperience in installing and troubleshooting fire alarm devices and control panelsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical manualsStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesMust have a State of Ohio Fire Alarm & Detection licenseMust own your own hand tools Experience in conduit bending and installation A minimum of 3 years of fire alarm experience High School Diploma or equivalent requiredNICET FAS certification is preferredMust be able to work alone and as part of a teamBasic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills Customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitaskAbility to maintain schedules, ability to plan and organizeAbility to troubleshoot fire protection systemsMust have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English with employees and customersAbility to operate a computer or tablet and read electronic blueprints where requiredMust be able to work with Google, Microsoft, and other computer-based programsValid driver's license with acceptable driving record requiredMust be able to comply with drug and alcohol policy and Must be able to pass background screening requirements
