VP, Construction & Claims Counsel (Attorney)

Our client, a national multifamily real estate developer, seeks aVP, Construction & Claims Counsel to join their legal team.This attorney will possess 6+ years of experience and have solid transactional and litigation experience in construction. The ideal attorney candidate will have experience as a construction attorney from a law firm, and will have worked in-house for a general contractorThis role reports to the General Counsel and will be an integral part of a lean and nimble legal team.Responsibilities include:Serve as key contact for GMP negotiations.Serve as key contact for subcontract agreement/consultant agreement negotiations.Lead negotiations of professional services agreements (architects, engineers, surveys, etc.)Develop and update in-house construction form agreements.Manage routine construction disputes and lien releasesManage routine construction and property related litigation.Assist construction in the preparation of default notices and advise on general strategies during construction disputes.Manage claims tracking process and claims analyst.This is an in-office position with flexibility. Atlanta is the preferred location, but our client has offices in most major and secondary markets, so please inquire if other locations are more suitable.Compensation target is approximately $300,000 base salary + annual bonus.
