About the Role:The Plant Manager, BioPharma Center of Excellence is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing facility. You'll be responsible for managing production, leadership of site, quality control, driving collaborative and compliant leadership throughout the site and aligning globally on products and services for the BioPharma market as well as LifeScience Solutions BU.Responsibilities:Develop a strategic manufacturing/capability plan to meet the market needs and organization's overall strategic goals and objectivesBusiness Management: Contribute to manufacturing strategy of the BUAct as a member to the leadership team for the BU LifeScience SolutionsEstablish a business plan for the site to positively contribute to the business unit goals and objectives and the overall BAManaging Production: Ensure that production processes run smoothly, efficiently and safelyEstablish goals and hold team accountable to achieve desired outcomesProvide monthly reports to communicate the financial, KPI and overall management performanceSupport manufacturing process initiatives that foster the growth and sustainment of a Lean cultureEstablish and champion a 5S protocol for the siteGlobal Alignment: Ensure global alignment of the manufacturing processesWork across the BU with other manufacturing sites dedicated to the BioPharma market to ensure consistency of processes, materials and quality to provide global customers with a globally consistent product portfolioDrive Talent Management: Partner with Human Resources to determine talent needs, improve employee engagement, performance management and overall alignment to the business unit's organizational structureDemonstrate effective leadership in supporting employee engagement efforts and communicationConduct quarterly and monthly communication meetings to review performance, production, project status and initiativesAct as a positive influence to the culture of the siteQuality Control: Maintain and improve quality control procedures to meet company expectationsCollaborate with quality and regulatory team to ensure SOPs are followed, corrective actions are implemented, and repeated occurrences are resolved timelyPerform process audits to monitor procedure and policy conformanceBudget Management: Monitor and control production budgets to ensure cost effectivenessMotivate team to generate sales revenue and profits to meet or exceed budget expectationsEnsure CapEx projects are completed on time and in budgetCompliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulationsContinuous Improvement: Actively lead initiatives to optimize production efficiency and reduce costs to ensure the site remains competitive in the marketCoordination: Work with cross functional departments to ensure seamless workflow and communicationCollaborate with shared services and other sites to deliver projects and initiativesCollaborate across functional areas to implement needed improvements (e.g., tools, equipment, procedures, forms, training materials, etc.)Center of Excellence for BioPharma: Support business development of the siteIn collaboration with the commercial team, support the development of the center of excellence to drive growth for both the site and the BU/BAEnsure business development is done timely by working in collaboration with the new product development team (both on-site and central team members)Ensure the site is visitor-ready at all times and ready to showcase the capabilities of the siteEducation + Experience:REQUIRED:Four-year degree in engineering, operations management or any related fieldEight years' operations experienceFive years' experience leading a teamExperience with Lean Sigma methodologies DESIRED:MBA or master's degree in related fieldMedical and clean room experience5+ years operations managementExperience with clean room/medical device manufacturingSkills & AbilitiesLeadership and Team Management: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team to achieve production goalsStrategic Planning: Develop long-term strategies to improve plant efficiency and productivityProblem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operationsCommunication: Clear and effective communication with staff, management and other departmentsFinancial Acumen: Manage budgets, control costs and ensure financial efficiencyQuality Control: Ensure products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements Process Improvement: Continuously seek ways to optimize production processes and reduce wasteAdaptability: Ability to adapt to changing conditions and new technologiesSafety and Compliance: Ensure the plant operates in compliance with health, safety and environmental regulationsTechnical Knowledge: Understand the technical aspects of production processes and equipment
