This role combines strategic vision with hands-on expertise to drive innovation, scalability, and security within the M365 ecosystem, ensuring compliance in a highly regulated environment. The Senior M365 Administrator leads technical research, design, and development efforts, collaborating with project teams to provide technical analysis, solution design, and operational support, while ensuring smooth transitions from development to production. As the subject matter expert, this individual provides strategic guidance and technical leadership to optimize productivity, strengthen security, and leverage advanced capabilities across Microsoft 365 services.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITESComprehensive Microsoft 365 ExpertiseMaintain in-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 operations in hybrid environments, ensuring seamless integration and performance optimization.Administration and MaintenanceOversee daily management of the Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring optimal performance, high availability, and robust security protocols.Configuration and ImplementationLead the deployment and configuration of Microsoft 365 services, including integrating third-party applications and tools, while adhering to best practices and organizational requirements.Security and ComplianceApply security patches, updates, and service packs in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with industry and organizational standards.Client SupportRespond to and resolve client email issues and support tickets efficiently, maintaining high levels of service quality.Task PrioritizationEffectively manage multiple applications and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including those related to Microsoft 365 services.DocumentationCreate and maintain comprehensive, up-to-date documentation for configurations, processes, and procedures associated with Microsoft 365 services.Problem SolvingAnalyze and resolve complex technical and operational issues, contributing to larger, more complex initiatives when required.Emerging TechnologiesStay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and updates in Microsoft 365 to ensure the organization leverages the most effective solutions.Scripting and AutomationAdminister Microsoft Windows Servers via PowerShell as needed.Develop, test, debug, and manage PowerShell scripts to automate tasks and optimize operations.Recommend and implement improvements to existing PowerShell scripts for enhanced efficiency.Upgrades and MaintenanceRecommend, schedule, and perform software upgrades and system improvements to maintain operational integrity.Performance MonitoringMonitor and test server software performance, providing detailed statistics and reports to inform decision-making.Microsoft Exchange ExpertiseApply a strong understanding of Exchange Online best practices, ensuring optimal email functionality and security.System AdministrationLeverage expertise in Windows System Administration for seamless integration and management of related infrastructure.End-User TrainingDeliver training sessions and create user-friendly documentation to maximize end-user adoption and productivity within Microsoft 365 applications.Advanced Security ConfigurationConfigure and optimize Exchange Online Protection (EOP) settings to safeguard against email-based threats.OneDrive SupportProvide expert resolution for OneDrive synchronization issues across various platforms to ensure seamless file access and collaboration.Skills and AttributesStrong analytical and organizational skills for managing complex environments.Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and engage stakeholders.Participate in on-call rotation, 24/7 support, escalation and SLA modelsREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / MIS / Information Technology, or equivalent experience in Information Technology, or related technical discipline5+ years' experience with Microsoft Office 365 administration5+ experience & deep Knowledge in PowerShell, shell, batch, bash scripting language5+ years experiences with System AdministrationSPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS DESIRED:GCC High experienceConsiders themselves a "Power User" on both Linux and WindowsKnowledge of DHCP and DNSKnowledge of Power AutomateExperience with Microsoft PurviewFamiliarity with certificate managementLocation of ServicesServices will be performed onsite at Herndon VAMonday - Friday 9 AM to 5 PM EST
